Pam Schmidt
Artist and Instructor
My name is Pamela J. Schmidt (Pam) and I have been some sort of instructor most of my adult life. I started my “official” teaching career as a Crime Scene Investigator who taught Forensics classes. My unofficial career as an instructor has been teaching a wide variety of craft classes from jewelry, handmade book binding, scrapbooking, alcohol inks, mixed media acrylic paint pouring and upcycling home décor.
Now that I have retired from law enforcement the bulk of my teaching is in the arts and crafts arena although I still occasionally travel to teach forensics. I absolutely adore teaching people how to be creative. I love to see the light bulb go off and the light in their eyes when they see what they have done. Nothing is more satisfying. I teach locally in several different cities and have just started my YouTube channel “The Studio In My Mind”. I created that name because I have always dreamed of having a “place to call my own” where I can teach, but for now the studio is in my mind!
I am very proud to be a part of this team and look forward to teaching, and learning, from everyone. I believe that “everyone is a teacher and everyone is a student”. Not only do I teach people but I learn myself through them.
